Why Is It So Hard to Ignore Feelings?

Question by labelse: Why is it so hard to ignore feelings?
I am a guy but sensitive and emotional. I get attached to people easily. I have friends from years ago… Ex girlfriends become my friends… lol. I met this beautiful girl, I told her how my room was a mess. It had been a mess for a long time. I gambled too right, for a long time. Then this woman says “You should fix your room, and stop gambling.” Because I liked her so much, fixing my room became important lol… gambling seemed pointless. I was addicted to gambling and then stopped cold turkey hm…

What I’m trying to say is that feelings/ emotions shouldn’t effect my decision making. Fixing my room was the right thing to do, whether it felt good doing or not! I want to do the rational thing but sometimes it just doesn’t feel right. How do I ignore that feeling and just follow my rational thinking?
