free food, free clothing, free cable, free phone, free paper/pencils/envelopes, free hygiene products, warm place to sleep in winter, place to detox from drugs, free GED classes and test, free medical care, free counseling, free medicine, etc etc etc.

A few years ago, my friend was jailed overnight (due to a mistake on the county’s part). He said it was the worst experience of his life. He was unable to eat or sleep those 24 hours. After he got out he said he’d never do anything that would ever put him back in jail.
