Should I Be the First to Make Contact?!?

Question by schoops22: Should I be the first to make contact?!?
My boyfriend and I were together for 11 months. However, for 11 months I had to put up with his drug addiction and that messy cycle. I’ve walked away many times but always went back when things got better or when he needed help. I know I shiouldn’t have, but I love this boy to pieces. Now his addict behavior was starting to come back, (even tho I wasn’t sure if he was using or not) and told him I wanted to take a break. He decided it was good, because he wanted to find himself, and give me his best. We mutually decided to not see other people, and I asked if we should stay friends. He said ya he still wants to be friends, but we haven’t talked in 2 days. I know that doesn’t seem that long, but this is the first time in 11 months we haven’t talked. He use to tell me he was going to make me his wife one day, and how happy I made him.

Now I know I’ve done some stuff that’s hurt him and pissed him off, nothing like cheating or anything. But his drug addiction has made it very hard for me to trust him. But I love him. Should I text/email him just telling him I’m sorry for my part, or will he think that I’m just crazy?!

If you love him, you should see that he gets the needed help. He needs to go to a clinic. Drug addiction can’t be fought alone by the person who is addicted, even with the help of a friend.

Do whatever it takes. Go talk to his family or just grab him by the hand and say “were going to the clinic”. If there isn’t a drug clinic in your area, call your local hospital and ask for information where addicts area treated.

He will resist, and say that he can do it by himself, but he cant. If he flat refuses to go, your relationship with him is going to continue to declining until it’s over.

Best of luck schoops22. Hope you can help him.

Cheers
