Take up a hobby such as Football to pass the time. If your in the USA then (Soccer). I use to be a addict. This is how I solved it. Or you could just sell the gaming equipment you have?

Take up a different hobby. Reading, sports, art. Find anything else that can occupy some of that time. You don’t need to completely give up gaming, but you should only play for an hour or so a day.
With some video game consoles you can put a restriction on how much time you can play a day.
Or if you want to completely give up the habit just sell your console and games and use the money towards your new hobby.
