Hello!
First, I’d recommend logging onto http://www.njsg.org/. That is the New Jersey Support Group for transgender, transsexual and crossdresser identifiers. I think a support group might help you, in addition to therapy, so you should check out their meetings if it sounds appealing to you. It’s good to know you’re not alone and to also speak with people who are like you and with whom you share a common bond:
“To attend a meeting, please use our contact form or phone (206) 600-7860. Our meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month at 8:00 PM in Washington’s Crossing New Jersey, doors generally open around 7:00 PM. We charge a meeting fee of $ 10 for members and $ 15 for non-members. There is no charge to attend your first meeting. First time contacts, please give us a little information about yourself, and why you are looking for a support group.”
As far as good therapists go, I found you an entire list of New Jersey Therapists who deal with Transgender Psychology and Transsexual Psychology specifically. You can search through the database for your closest city/county and New Jersey and look at who is available in the area. You can then google his/her name to read references about that person and find out more.
Check this website out as soon as you can:

I really hope this helps! Good luck!

“I welcome the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning population. Homosexuality is not a problem that must be cured, but there are challenges unique to people with alternate lifestyles. I can help people come out to loved ones, deal with harassment or merely discuss relationships without having to change the pronoun. I have advocated for transgender clients who have chosen to make transitions, and those who have decided to not make full transitions. I have run a support group for Male to Female (MtF) individuals, using psychodramatic action methods.”
