Christian Wifes, How Would You Handle This Situation?

Question by Lilly: Christian wifes, how would you handle this situation?
My husband and I earn almost exactly the same amount of money each month. But I pay the mortgage, car insurance, buy all the groceries and household supplies, pay for car repairs, etc., while my husband pays for utilities and a car payment. He ends up spending a little over $ 500 less than I do each month towards household expenses. I end up with nothing left each month and having to scrimp and bargain shop and do without, while he has an extra $ 500 to do with whatever he wishes. He loves to go to the casino boats and the off-track horse betting parlor, plus some gambling online. He can buy shoes, clothes, whatever he needs, while I go the Salvation Army for my clothes. How would you handle this situation?
Yes Rene, I agree. But when I met him and fell in love, I wasn’t walking the Christian walk. So what you are saying is that since we are not equally yoked, there is no answer?
He refuses to have a joint bank account, refuses to split the bills down the middle, and when I bring up finaces, he says he will just leave. We have a child. I don’t want to break up the family.
Also Rene, being equally yoked doesn’t guarantee that each partner will be fair and reasonable. It’s the ideal situation, but it’s not a guarantee. That’s why I’m asking for Christian advice about how to handle this.
The Cricket: I am considering converting to Catholicism too! It’s a huge decision…I’m reading books about people who have converted and am talking to people where I live also who have converted – one of them is a wonderful priest.
