Doreen talks about how, as a single mother of two sons, she returned to college while working full-time as a secretary. She shows the camera her diplomas from Chapman University (a leading accredited univeristy where she earned BA and MA degrees in Psychology in the 1980’s) and California Coast University (where she earned a Ph.D. in Psychology in the early 1990’s when it was an accredited university). Doreen discusses how she volunteered as a counselor at the Care Unit and was later hired full-time, and then how she worked for Dr. John Beck, MD (psychiatrist) as an eating disorder therapist, and later worked as administrators at Teen Alcohol and Drug Abuse Clinic in Lancaster, California; Cumberland Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, where she opened an all-women’s psychiatric unit called “Woman Kind” and Woodside Women’s Hospital in Woodside, California. She also discusses how she got published.
