Psychologists will sit down with the patients to analyze exactly why the patient feels the need to use in the first place. The third prong in drug and alcohol treatment centers is group support. Patients who check into centers are put into a ward with other people who are going through the same treatment program. When sitting down as a group and discussing the various factors of the disease, the patient can see that there are normal people who are experiencing the same problems that they are. This can be a huge aid in treatment since the patient knows that they are not alone in what they are feeling. These groups will encourage each other through all stages of their rehabilitation, offering support for each other. Watching another patient overcome his or her problems is a great way for the patient to see that the program truly works.

When deciding that it is time to overcome addiction, drug and alcohol treatment centers have higher success rates than just about any other program available today. With trained doctors to help with the physical aspects of the addictions, counselors available at all times to help with the psychology of the disease, and other patients there to support each other through the entire process, these centers will offer very intense experiences but will prove to be worth it in the end.
