I know the meanings of COMPULSIVE GAMBLING. But, why is the word “compulsive” used? What is the real meaning of “compulsive” of “compulsive gambling or gambler”?

You can’t stop doing it. You lack the will-power, the control to keep yourself from doing it. Compulsive gamblers get a rush from gambling and after awhile they don’t even have to think about what they’re doing. Psychological addictions.
